STANFORD, Calif. – For the second straight night, No. 11 Stanford dropped a 3-0 decision (25-23, 25-13, 25-20) to No. 1 Hawaii in front of a capacity crowd in Burnham Pavilion.
Stanford (5-7) was held to a .099 attack percentage, committing 21 hitting errors. Hawaii (14-0) finished with a .247 team hitting percentage. The Warriors served tough and got the Cardinal out of system, tallying seven aces.
Stanford was back in its lineup that features redshirt freshman Justin Lui at setter and junior Leo Henken at libero. Lui posted 25 assists, eight digs and an ace.
Junior opposite Jaylen Jasper had a team-high 10 kills, but was held to .029 hitting. Senior middle blocker Stephen Moye added seven kills on a .545 attack percentage and a team-best four blocks.
Junior Kyler Presho and freshman Will Rottman each registered four kills for the Cardinal, while senior Eric Beatty finished with three kills and four digs.
Hawaii was led by senior outside hitter Colton Cowell, who had 11 kills on 18 errorless swings to hit .611 and recorded three aces. Senior opposite Rado Parapunov also turned in 11 kills and had three blocks.
Hawaii remains undefeated on the year and has posted sweeps in 12 of its 14 matches played.
Stanford remains on The Farm next week, hosting USC and Concordia for a pair of MPSF matches in Maples Pavilion.
