This Time, It's Yale

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - No. 6 Stanford was edged 5-4 by No. 3 Yale on Friday afternoon in the opening round of the CSA National Championships.

Stanford (5-6) faced an uphill climb from the start, squaring off against Yale on its home court while playing short-handed with regular Haley Aube out of the lineup.

The Cardinal received victories from Casey Wong, Cassandra Ong, Caroline Neave and Amita Gondi.

The Bulldogs (13-3) cleaned up at the lower three spots of the lineup while adding wins at the Nos. 1 and 5 positions.

Stanford will next face Drexel in the consolation draw on Saturday.
