NEW HAVEN, Conn. - No. 6 Stanford came up on the short end of a 5-4 loss to No. 8 Columbia on Sunday afternoon, resulting in a sixth-place Howe Cup finish at the CSA National Championships.
Each of Stanford's matches at the CSA National Championships resulted in 5-4 outcomes, with the Cardinal (6-7) securing its lone win on Saturday against No. 7 Drexel.
Against Columbia (11-7) on Sunday, the Lions clinched the match with a win on court eight.
Stanford had already beaten Columbia 5-4 back on Jan. 19 in New York.
The Cardinal produced another solid season, highlighted by four top-10 victories despite regularly featuring five underclassmen in its lineup. Seniors Chloe Chemtob, Julia Gillette, Sunwoo Lee and Casey Wong competed in their final season.
