STANFORD, Calif. - No. 2 Stanford wrapped up the Stanford Invitational with another win, its seventh of the season, defeating sixth-ranked California 10-6.

The Cardinal was the early aggressor in Sunday's match, as Stanford jumped out to a 4-1 lead behind goals from four different scorers in the opening period of play, while Cal struggled with missed shots and turnovers.
The Bears retalied with a 4-1 run of their own, tying the match at 5-5 with 5:22 remaining in the second period. Stanford struggled to get the ball in the net, but relied on its defense to enter the break knotted 5-5.
The second half of the game belonged to the home team, as Stanford surged ahead in the third period, scoring four straight goals, including shots from Hannah Constandse, Sophie Wallace and two from Sarah Klass.
Now ahead 9-5, the Cardinal flexed its muscle on defense, shutting out the Bears in the fourth en route to a 10-6 victory.
The Cardinal is 7-0 for the 11th straight season and is 113-10 at Avery Aquatic Center since 2008.
