STANFORD, Calif. – No. 13 Stanford hit lights out in a straight-set win over No. 7 UCLA, Saturday, in Maples Pavilion.
The Cardinal (5-5, 1-2) hit a season-best .565, totaling 39 kills with just four hitting errors. Stanford hit a blistering .857 (12-0-14) in the opening set, setting the tone for the remainder of the match.
Redshirt freshman Justin Lui set a balanced offense as three Cardinal registered double-digit kills. Lui finished with 33 assists, three digs and wo blocks. But what might have been the most memorable moment was when he went over on two in the second set and registered his first collegiate kill.

Senior Eric Beatty led the team with 11 kills on 16 errorless swings to hit .688. Junior opposite Jaylen Jasper also turned in 11 kills on .429 hitting, while freshman Will Rottman registered 10 kills on .600 hitting with a career-high four aces.
Middle blockers Kyler Presho and Stephen Moye combined for six kills and five blocks, hitting .500 and .600, respectively.
UCLA (5-5, 0-2 MPSF) was held to a .242 clip. Cole Ketrzynski led the Bruins with eight kills, while middle Daenan Gyimah had six kills and two blocks.
The Cardinal played with an inspired energy provided by members of the 2010 NCAA championship team, who were back on campus celebrating the anniversary of their title.
