Women's Golf Year In Review

For the fifth straight season, Stanford finished in the Top 10 of the Golfweek final rankings, finishing at No. 9 in the final poll of the 2019-20 season. The Cardinal has now finished in the Top 11 in all eight seasons under Margot and Mitch Milias Director of Women's Golf Anne Walker.

Despite the season being cut short due to COVID-19, there were still plenty of positives and memorable moments for the Cardinal.

Card Wins Molly, Lee Breaks Record
Stanford began the season on a high note with a dominating 26-stroke victory at The Molly Intercollegiate. Andrea Lee was the individual medalist, setting the school record with her ninth career win. Lee was followed by true freshman Angelina Ye and fellow classmate Albane Valenzuela, who rounded out the tournament's top three.

Ye Wins Stanford Intercollegiate
Angelina Ye picked up her first career victory at the Stanford Intercollegiate to lead the Cardinal to a runner-up finish. Missing both Lee and Valenzuela, who were playing at LPGA Q-Series, the young Cardinal shined as Aline Krauter also finished in the top five at Stanford Golf Course.

All-America Cardinal
Sophomore Aline Krauter and freshman Angelina Ye were named second-team All-Americans by the Women's Golf Coaches Association. 2020 marks the ninth straight season Stanford has had an All-American, and the seventh consecutive year having multiple All-Americans.

Arnold Palmer Cup Selections
Speaking of Krauter and Ye, both were selected to play for Team International at the Arnold Palmer Cup next December. Read about the selections here.

Two Turn Pro
In November, both Andrea Lee and Albane Valenzuela announced they'd forgo the rest of their senior seasons to begin their professional golf careers. Both have remained as Stanford students and will earn their degrees this summer.

Individual Highlights
• Sophomore Aline Krauter had a scoring average of 71.93 in 15 rounds. Although she didn't reach the 20-round qualification due to the season cutting short, that scoring average would've been the fourth-best by a sophomore in school history. Last year, Krauter's 73.61 scoring average as a freshman was fourth-best in school history. She finished in the Top 16 in all five starts.
• Mika Liu played in four tournaments and improved her scoring average by nearly a full stroke from last season, to 74.00. Her best finished was a 12th-place spot at the Gunrock Invitational.
• Calista Reyes was steady for the Cardinal all season long, playing in 18 rounds with a scoring average of 74.78. Her best finish was a fourth-place spot at the Gunrock Invitational, where she fired her career-best round of a 67 in the first round.
• Freshman Brooke Seay started slow, but finished with a second-place finish at the Gunrock Invitational. In her first three starts, her best finish was a tie for 50th, but she ended the campaign with 23rd- and second-place finishes to carry strong momentum into the future.
• Ziyi Wang improved her scoring average by nearly 1.5 strokes this season, averaging 73.42 strokes per round in 12 rounds. Her best finish was a tie for seventh at the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge.
• In addition to her win at the Stanford Intercollegiate, Ye had four Top 20 and two Top 10 finishes as a freshman. Had it qualified, her scoring average of 72.27 would've ranked third among freshmen in school history, behing just Andrea Lee (2016-17) and Mariah Stackhouse (2013-14).
