Card Recognized by USRowing

U.S. Under-23 selections Opens in a new window

STANFORD, Calif. -- Four Stanford women were invited to the USRowing under-23 national team selection camp.

Cardinal senior Emily Delleman, juniors Maria Kent and Miranda Nykolyn, and sophomore Kelsey McGinley were among the women's selections.

The camp selections are ceremonial because the 2020 World Rowing U-23 Championships scheduled for August in Bled, Slovenia, were canceled. Iowa women's head coach Andrew Carter was overseeing the open women's U23 camp in Iowa City.

"While understandably the pandemic has put a halt to the 2020 international racing schedule, USRowing wants to recognize those athletes who have earned invitations to our 2020 Under-23 National Team selection camps," said Matt Imes, USRowing High Performance Director. "While these athletes won't get the opportunity to represent the U.S. this summer, they make up an incredibly important part of our national team development program. We congratulate each of them on being selected for the camps and look forward to many of them representing Team USA in the future."

Delleman, a 2019 CRCA second-team All-American, has raced in two World U23 Championships, placing sixth in the quad sculls in 2017 and seventh in double sculls in 2019 with Stanford alumna Elizabeth Sharis.

McGinley has won three medals from the World Junior (Under-19) Championships— a bronze in the 4- in 2016 and 2017, and gold in the 4- in 2018.
