STANFORD, Calif. – The College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) selected both Stanford men's and women's swimming and diving programs as Scholar All-America teams on Monday.
Stanford was one of 461 schools that will receive the award for the spring semester. Teams were selected on the basis of their winter grade point averages, with a minimum 3.0 team GPA, and represent 17,982 student-athletes. Due to institutional adjustments to grading systems as a result of the COVID-19 global pandemic, the CSCAA will not be publishing team GPAs this year. The Stanford women finished the winter quarter with a 3.76 team GPA while the men finished with a 3.48 GPA.
The Cardinal women won their fourth straight Pac-12 title in February and finished the regular season undefeated for a fifth straight year under Paul A. Violich Director of Women's Swimming Greg Meehan and Head Diving Coach Patrick Jeffrey. The Pac-12 selected 18 women to the Winter Academic Honor Roll, senior Erin Voss was the Pac-12 Scholar-Athlete of the Year and a first team Academic All-American, and junior Brooke Forde was also named a first team Academic All-American.
The Stanford men finished 4-1 in the regular season and in third place at the Pac-12 Swimming and Diving Championships. Under the new Goldman Family Director of Men's Swimming Dan Schemmel and Jeffrey, 12 men were named to the Pac-12 Winter Academic Honor Roll.
Individual Scholar All-America selections will be announced next week.
