What's your favorite way to spend a day off?My favorite way to spend a day is with my friends and teammates and doing anything from watching a movie to going to San Francisco or Half Moon Bay. I am also a hiking enthusiast and love to spend time in the outdoors.
What surprised you the most about being a student-athlete at Stanford? When I arrived at Stanford, I was amazed at how close-knit the athletic and academic community is at Stanford. Everyone is extremely welcoming and beyond supportive; the Stanford community is truly a family.
Do you have any pet peeves?People who don't use their blinkers when they drive, people who walk slowly, and when my sunglasses slide down my nose.
If you weren't playing volleyball at Stanford, what sport would you want to play?If I wasn't playing volleyball, I would love to learn how to play lacrosse because of the exciting game pace and the team spirit. Lacrosse seems like a lot fun!
Do you have any prematch rituals? If so, what are they? Before each home game, I always make sure to order the Platter (it includes rice, grilled chicken, avocado, fried egg!) from Jimmy V's Sport Cafe as my pregame meal. In addition, I always put my kneepads and shoes on in the same order (right then left!) and use my lucky hair tie.
Outside of volleyball, what's something you're passionate about and why?I love to paint in my free time outside of volleyball! My favorite medium is oil paints and I enjoy painting landscapes the most. The best part about painting is how relaxing it is and being able to combine my passion for painting and nature.
Why did you choose to attend Stanford?
Out of all the other schools in the nation, I truly believe that Stanford is the ultimate example of a standard of excellence. Not only does Stanford provide the best opportunities in the classroom and on the court, but every single member of the community at Stanford is committed to being the best version of themselves. The people here are beyond inspiring!
