STANFORD, Calif. – Adding to its series of impressive recruiting classes, Anne and Tony Joseph Director of Men's Basketball Jerod Haase has announced the signing of two standouts to National Letters of Intent: Harrison Ingram (Dallas, Texas) and Isael Silva (Sacramento, Calif).
"Isa and Harrison are two student-athletes that fit who we are both on and off the court. We have built great relationships with both players and their families, and I think that is a large part of the reason why we are all so collectively excited," said Haase. "They are both high character, personable, competitive and selfless people who should fit seamlessly into what we are building on The Farm. Our goal is to become a contender on the national stage, and Isa and Harrison will help us carry out that vision."
Stanford is one of seven schools across the country to sign multiple RSCI top-35 recruits, and holds the 11th- and 12th-best classes nationally, respectively, from ESPN and Rivals.Harrison Ingram | SF | 6-7 | Dallas, Texas | St. Mark'sIngram gives Stanford a five-star recruit for the second-consecutive season, joining the Cardinal as the consensus No. 12 recruit, though he is ranked as high as ninth in the country by Rivals, and the top-ranked signee from the state of Texas. A 6-7 versatile, ball-handling wing with elite decision making and passing ability, Ingram averaged 20 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists as a junior last year for St. Marks, leading the program to the state championship.
He played AAU basketball with Southern Assault, and chose Stanford over North Carolina, Purdue, Michigan, Harvard and Howard.
Quotables:
"Harrison is extremely skilled and savvy. At 6-7, Harrison has the tools that should translate to the college game. His ball handling and playmaking skills for someone his size is a rarity. He can score from the perimeter, mid-range, and at the rim, and his versatility on the defensive end is what we look for in the recruiting process. He is an elite competitor and has seemingly won on every team he has been a part of. Similar to Isa, Harrison has an infectious personality that will lift up our group, and we are eager to have them both a part of our program." – Head Coach Jerod Haase
"I chose Stanford because, obviously, it's the best education in the world. The trust the coaches have in me, and the trust I have in them, to potentially come in right away and make an impact was an opportunity I couldn't pass up." – Harrison Ingram
Isael Silva | PG | 6-4 | Sacramento, Calif. | JesuitSilva is a four-star recruit and the consensus No. 31 signing in the country, though is ranked as high as No. 26 by Rivals. He is the third-ranked point guard nationally, and the third ranked player in the state of California. A crafty point guard and gifted passer with a supreme feel for the game, Silva chose Stanford over Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Texas and USC.
Silva posted averages of 18.5 points, 4.2 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game for Jesuit last year, while playing his AAU basketball with the Compton Magic. Like Ingram, Silva has the ability to score at all three levels while making his teammates better.
Quotables:
"Isa is a true point guard with a great feel for the game and high basketball IQ. His playmaking ability is rare, having the ability to create opportunities for others and himself. He has worked on his strength recently and that is allowing him to score at all three levels, which is really exciting and should carry over to the college game immediately. On the defensive end, Isa will fit into our developing identity. One of the cool parts about Isa is he is constantly seeking ways to better himself and his team, and that drive is special." – Head Coach Jerod Haase
"I chose Stanford because of amazing people, amazing coaches and an environment where I can thrive and reach my dreams. It's the most beautiful place in the world, I'm excited to come to Palo Alto and help bring a national championship." – Isael Silva
