Head coach Andrew Fuller announced the addition of five student-athletes as part of National Signing Day. The five additions are Camdyn Doucet (New Braunfels, Texas), Emma Morris (Haymarket, Va.), Serena Turner (Phoenix, Ariz.), Avi Vetter (Olympia, Wash.) and Taylor Wilson (Santa Barbara, Calif.).
"We are thrilled about Camdyn, Emma, Serena, Avi and Taylor joining the Stanford Beach Volleyball family," Fuller said. "They bring a wealth of experience from all over the country, which is tremendously valuable as we continue to build a roster capable of handling any conditions that the sport of beach volleyball throws their way. They are a curious, engaged, and exceptionally grounded group. They're quite talented individually, but the synergy they've created leading up to their time at Stanford is the secret sauce."
Camdyn Doucet (New Braunfels, Texas)
Daughter of Kelly and Michael Doucet … sister of Addie and Danielle … plans to study product design … father played baseball at Baylor and Texas Lutheran … three-time member of the TAPPS All-State volleyball team at New Braunfels Christian Academy … won the TAPPS 3A state championships in 2019 in both indoor and beach … was state runner-up in 2018 … three-time AAU National Champion for beach volleyball … five-time member of the A1 High Performance beach team … member of 2020 USA Beach Volleyball U19 A1 National Team.
Fuller on Doucet: "Camdyn is a quick, athletic defender with great spring and elite setting touch who will be flying all over the courts at the Stanford Beach Volleyball Stadium. Camdyn has been training with 210 Beach and the USA National Team, competing all over the country. Camdyn is anticipating studying product design at Stanford."
Emma Morris (Haymarket, Va.)
Daughter of Amy and Greg Morris … sister of William … father played baseball at Washington State … mother played softball at George Mason … plans to study computer science … three-year letterwinner on the volleyball team at Battlefield High School … also earned a letter in swimming … named second team All-State in 2019 in addition to All-Region and All-District … was All-Region and All-District in 2018 and All-District in 2017 … helped her program to the first regional championship ever and lost in the state semifinals … member of 2020 USA Beach Volleyball U19 A1 National Team.
Fuller on Morris: "Emma is a long, versatile split blocker with a great motor who is consistently pushing herself to evolve her game as she trains with Sinjin Beach Volleyball Club in Raleigh, NC. She uses her length to score points on and off the net. Emma is looking forward to studying computer science at Stanford."
Serena Turner (Phoenix, Ariz.)
Daughter of Kathy and Rich Turner … plans to study computer science with an emphasis in environmental science … member of Arizona Interscholastic Association Student Leadership Advisory Committee … helped her indoor team to back-to-back state titles and her beach team to a state title in 2018-19 … was a team captain at Xavier College Prep … member of the Sports360 AZ All-Academic first team and was also named All-Region … led team in blocks and kill percentage in 2017, '18 and '19.
Fuller on Turner: "Serena is an athletic, jumpy blocker with a big-time arm swing who has grown up competing in the desert heat of Phoenix and has worked for tremendous success in indoor volleyball and on the beach with her high school, Xavier, and her beach club, RPM. Serena is planning on studying computer science and environmental science at Stanford."
Avi Vetter (Olympia, Wash.)
Daughter of MaryAnn and Dan Vetter … sister of Aris … plans to study biology … father wrestled at the Naval Academy … two-time team captain of the volleyball program … named South Puget Sound All-League in 2019 and earned the Superior Achievement Award … had the most kills per set, best kill percentage and most season kills in school history in 2019… played for DaKine Volleyball Club.
Fuller on Vetter: "Avi is a versatile, savvy split blocker who will bring heaps of creativity and competitive experience to the team. Having grown up in Washington and playing for DaKine Volleyball Club, Avi is prepared to adapt to any and all difficult weather conditions. She is considering studying biology at Stanford."
Taylor Wilson (Santa Barbara, Calif.)
Daughter of Kimberly and Brian Wilson … sister of Jack and Parker … plans to study management science and engineering … father ran track and UCSB … three-year varsity player indoors and two-year varsity beach player at San Marcos High School … two-time team captain … played for Valley Girls Beach Volleyball Club … two-time All-Channel League and team MVP in 2019 … two-time Channel League champions … member of 2020 USA Beach Volleyball U19 A1 National Team.
Fuller on Wilson: "Taylor is a powerful, athletic split blocker with an absolute cannon who has grown her game training with Valley Girls Beach Club and playing at the legendary East Beach in Santa Barbara. Taylor is interested in studying management science and engineering at Stanford."
