STANFORD, Calif. – Signing an elite junior tennis prospect to a national letter of intent, Stanford men's tennis will welcome Max Basing to the program in the class of 2025.
Basing will join Stanford from Effingham, United Kingdom, as a player who has captured a pair of ITF junior singles titles and reached a junior ranking as high as No. 266 in the world. He is currently ranked 1,480 in the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) rankings.
"Stanford's incredible academic standing, coupled with its second to none tennis history and top program, made it the only choice," said Basing. "I am hugely excited to start my journey and am privileged to have been accepted to Stanford."
Stanford finished 8-5 overall last season, and was ranked No. 8 nationally when the season was cut short due to the COVID-19 global outbreak. The Cardinal tallied four wins over ranked opponents, and signed the nation's top recruiting class in the class of 2024.
