Preseason No. 15

STANFORD, Calif. - The Stanford men's volleyball team begins the 2021 season ranked 15th in the AVCA preseason poll, the organization announced today. It marks the 14th straight season the Cardinal has been ranked in the preseason poll.

Stanford returns 11 players from the 2020 roster, including three-time AVCA All-America honorable mention selection and All-MPSF first-team performer Jaylen Jasper, and All-MPSF honorable mention picks Kyler Presho and Will Rottman. Setter Nathan Lietzke and libero Justin Lui also return for the Cardinal.

Stanford welcome six newcomers, including two transfer students - Hunter Dickey from Orange Coast College, and Ethan Hill from UCLA. Head coach John Kosty is in his 15th season at the helm of the program and 31st overall on staff.

Stanford is joined in the preseason poll by six fellow MPSF members, including unanimous No. 1 BYU. Pepperdine is tied for seventh, while UCLA (No. 9), Grand Canyon (No. 10) and Concordia (No. 12) sit ahead of the Cardinal.
