HOUSTON, Texas – Already a three-time Pac-12 champion, Brooke Forde has added another honor to her career resume. The senior was honored by the Pac-12 as the conference's Women's Swimming and Diving Scholar-Athlete of the Year, Friday at the conference championship.
Forde is the fourth-straight Stanford athlete to win the award, and she is the fifth overall since the award's inception in 2009.
"It's an honor for our program to have Brooke recognized as the Pac-12 Scholar-Athlete of the Year," said the Paul A. Violich Director of Women's Swimming Greg Meehan. "Through her commitment to school, dedication to sport and working to make the world a better place through her sustainability engagement, Brooke epitomizes all that is great about collegiate athletics. We are really proud of her."
A native of Louisville, Ky., Forde has been pursuing her degree in human biology with a minor in Spanish, owning a 3.952 grade-point average.
Forde was named to the CoSIDA Academic all-district and all-America teams in 2019-20 and has twice been named to the Pac-12 all-academic teams, doing so in 2019 and 2020. She has thrice been named a scholar all-American by the CSCAA.
On top of her academic accomplishments, Forde has led the Cardinal to three Pac-12 team titles (2018-20) and two NCAA team titles (2018-19). The three-time individual national champion has been named an All-American 11 times.
Forde won her first Pac-12 title in the 500 free on Thursday and was the conference's newcomer of the year in 2017-18. Forde ranks in the top 10 in five events on the Stanford record book.
The Pac-12 Women's Swimming and Diving Championships are ongoing and will conclude on Saturday.
