STANFORD, Calif. – Competing against Ohio State and Incarnate Word in the virtual OSU Small Routine Invitational on Saturday, Stanford finished first with a score of 74 points, followed by Ohio State (72 points) and Incarnate Word (45 points).
With the victory, Stanford is now 2-0 on the season after previously defeating Ohio State and Incarnate Word in a virtual technical competition on February 13.
Senior Jacklyn Luu won the solo event, narrowly defeating OSU's top soloist Laila Huric. Luu finished with a score of 81.8000 to beat Huric's 81.7333. Junior Alexandra Suarez took third with a mark of 78.0000.
The Cardinal place two teams in the top three of the duet competition, with Luu and freshman Emmanuella Tchakmakjian scoring an 81.6333 to finish just behind OSU's Paige Hopper and Huric at 81.6667. Hailee Heinrich and Caitlin Klauer registered a mark of 79.6667 to take third.
Heinrich, Klauer and Audrey Nguyen finished second in the trio, posting a score of 80.0333. Grace Alwan, Ava Jih-Schiff and Suarez followed in third with a score of 79.5667.
The Cardinal is scheduled to return to the pool on March 11 when it visits Incarnate Word.
