FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Another day, another victory for Conor Casey.
The Stanford junior followed up Monday's victory on the 3-meter springboard with a victory on the 1-meter springboard, Wednesday at the NCAA Zone E Diving Meet. With the victory in both events, Casey advances to the NCAA national championships.
Casey posted a score of 708.20 to win the 1-meter, only 2.85 points of second place.
Hunter Hollenbeck finished ninth on the 1-meter with a score of 591.95. The top four finishes on the 1-meter at the Zone E meet advance to the national championships.
Joining Casey at nationals will be Noah Vigran on the 3-meter. Vigran finished second in that event as part of Stanford's 1-2 finish in the event.
The NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships will be held March 24-27, in Greensboro, N.C. The Cardinal will also send 10 swimmers and three relay teams, with Rick Mihm currently being an alternate, to the national meet.
