Set to Serve to Saint Mary's

  • After 374 days between events, Stanford opened the season at home on Friday, March 12 with a 6-1 win over Santa Clara.
  • Stanford returned its entire roster from a year ago, and added the top recruiting class in the country: Tristan Boyer (Altadena, CA), Aryan Chaudhary (Santa Clara, CA), Arthur Fery (Wimbledon, UK) and Alex Lee (Oak Brook, IL).
  • Five singles players were ranked in the opening poll from the ITA: Alex Rotsaert (No. 3), Axel Geller (No. 20), Sangeet Sridhar (No. 75), Arthur Fery (No. 94) and Tristan Boyer (No. 119). Additionally, the pair of Geller and Neel Rajesh was slotted in as the 11th-ranked doubles pair to start the year. The team was ranked No. 5 as a team to start the spring season.
  • Stanford swept the doubles point against the Broncos, and won five of the six singles matches. Timothy Sah provided the clinching point.
  • Paul Goldstein has established himself among Stanford’s elite men’s tennis coaches in the program’s rich history. In six-plus seasons as the Cardinal mentor, Goldstein’s teams have posted a 102-43 record with a national ranking and a berth in the NCAA Championships in each of his first five seasons.
  • Stanford is a perfect 8-0 all-time against the Gaels, including shutouts in four of the last five meetings.
