New Lineup, Same Result

STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford cruised past Saint Mary's 6-1 on Wednesday afternoon at Taube Family Tennis Stadium.

The Cardinal (2-0), which remained perfect in nine all-time meetings against the Gaels (2-8), looked sharp across the board despite a shuffled singles lineup that featured five players making their debuts.

After sweeping all three courts in doubles to take a 1-0 lead, Stanford received convincing singles wins from Arthur Fery (6-0, 6-1) and Filip Kolasinski (6-2, 6-1).

Appearing at the No. 2 spot for the first time since his freshman season, Axel Geller provided the clincher in his season debut with a 6-3, 7-6 (6) victory.

Coming up for Stanford is a busy seven-day, four-match stretch that begins on Monday, March 22 at UCLA.
