Two Named First Team

All-MPSF Opens in a new window

STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford's Tyler Abramson and Quinn Woodhead were named to the All-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation first team for men's water polo on Wednesday.

Stanford had six all-conference honorees in all. Beck Jurasius was named to the second team, and Andrew Chun, Soren Jensen, and Ethan Parrish were honorable mention.

Stanford played an abbreviated regular season because of COVID-19 restrictions, going 3-3 overall and in the MPSF. The Cardinal opens the MPSF tournament at UCLA on Friday at 1 p.m. against Austin or Penn State Behrend.

Abramson, a senior attacker out of Orinda, is a three-time All-MPSF selection. He is a repeat first-team choice. Abramson led the Cardinal with 14 goals.

This is the second all-conference honor for Woodhead, a junior attacker out of San Anselmo, and his first first-team selection. Woodhead scored 10 goals.

This is the second All-MPSF honor for Chun, a fifth-year senior goalie from La Jolla. This is the first all-conference selection for Jurasius, a sophomore 2-meter from Walnut Creek, and for freshmen attackers Jensen, from Orinda, and Parrish, from Santa Barbara.
