Women’s Tennis Downs Utah

STANFORD, Calif. – Opening conference action with its third consecutive victory, Stanford women's tennis (3-0, 1-0 Pac-12) continued its strong start with a 7-0 win at Utah (6-3, 0-1 Pac-12).
 
The Cardinal went 3-0 in doubles, continuing the program's unbeaten start with two players on the court. Emily Arbuthnott and Ana Geller teamed up for a 6-1 win on court two, while the tandems of Michaela Gordon and Niluka Madurawe and Sara Choy and Janice Shin each earned 7-5 decisions.
 
Arbuthnott and Choy were nearly perfect in singles play, extending the Cardinal's lead to 3-0 after matching 6-0, 6-1 results. Michaela Gordon finished close on their heels in the first position, posting a 6-1, 6-1 clinching win. Emma Higuchi, Janice Shin and Ana Geller scored wins to close out the shutout.
 
Stanford concludes its mountain swing on Sunday, March 7 at Colorado. First serve is set for 9 a.m. PT.
