Kuhlmann’s Goal Gives Card the Win

STANFORD, Calif. – Civana Kuhlmann delivered the decisive goal in the 88th minute, and Stanford defeated Colorado, 2-1, on Sunday afternoon at Cagan Stadium. Stanford improved to 3-2 (2-1 Pac-12) on the season, while Colorado falls to 4-2-1 (1-1-1 Pac-12).

Kuhlmann joined Sarah Paulson with goals in the game, while Sierra Enge dished a pair of assists. Bell Briede provided the first assist for Kuhlmann's game-winner, while Katie Meyer made four saves in goal for the win.

Paulson put the Cardinal on the board after just 3:30, scoring from the corner of the box while catching the goalkeeper out of position. The score was her second of the year. The Buffaloes responded at the end of the first half to even the game, 1-1, at the intermission.

Stanford fired 12 shots in the second half, forcing four saves, but it took until the 88th minute to find the winner. Enge first connected with Briede, who found Kuhlmann with a through ball. Kuhlmann calmly dribbled around the goalkeeper for a tap-in, her third goal of the season.

Stanford returns to action on Friday, March 12 at Washington. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m.
