STANFORD, Calif. - No. 18 Stanford remained unbeaten through seven games while extending its dominance over California, blanking the Golden Bears 3-0 on Sunday night.

Stanford (7-0, 5-0 America East), which was playing its final home game at the Varsity Turf, has won seven in a row and 20 of its last 22 overall against rival California (2-6, 1-4 America East) dating back to 2010.

Corinne Zanolli scored a pair of first-half goals, Kaylie Mings dished out her team-leading fifth assist, Frances Carstens tacked on an insurance goal with five minutes left and the Cardinal defense produced its fourth shutout of the season.

Stanford outshot California 16-11, with nine of those attempts coming before halftime, as the Cardinal established a 2-0 lead. Zanolli's first goal at the 12:30 mark was a quick strike following a blistering cross inside the box from Mings while her second goal in the 25th minute came unassisted as she broke free from a scrum and beat Cal keeper Cato Knipping. Zanolli finished with a game-high nine shot attempts.

After a scoreless third period, California began pressuring more aggressively in the final stanza but Stanford's backline turned away any serious threats.

Carstens' fifth goal of the season, an unassisted score in the 55th minute, closed out the scoring as the Cardinal won its third game of the season by a 3-0 margin. Hannah Santos made five saves in goal.

Stanford has outscored its opponents 27-6 this season, averaging 17.1 shot attempts while allowing only 6.9.

The Cardinal wraps up its regular season this weekend with another East Coast road swing, beginning with Thursday's neutral-site contest against Maine to be played in Durham, New Hampshire.
