FRESNO, Calif. - Stanford women's golf shot an 8-under 568 on Monday at the Fresno State Classic and leads second-place Fresno State by 12 strokes heading into the final round on Tuesday at Copper River Country Club.
The Cardinal is led by freshman Rachel Heck, who fired a 7-under 137 to sit in second place overall. She will be chasing Fresno State's Harriet Lynch, who leads at 10-under. Stanford was bolstered by three other golfers tied for eighth at even-par. Angelina Ye and Brooke Seay both shot consecutive even-par 72s on Monday while Sadie Englemann shot 70-74 to end the day even-par.
Tuesday's round will feature the final 18 holes of the event as the Cardinal looks for its second team win of the season. Stanford also won the Gunrock Invitational at Del Paso Country Club in March.
