National Team Call Up

STANFORD, Calif. – Amy Sayer has been added to the final squad for the Australian Women's National Team, Football Australia announced on Friday.

Sayer will join former Stanford midfielder Beatie Goad on the Australian women's national team.

The freshman will depart from Stanford women's soccer after this weekend's matches in Arizona and join the Westfield Matildas for the upcoming FIFA window, April 5-13. Sayer will be available for Australia's matches against Germany (April 9) and the Netherlands (April 13). She will return to the Cardinal at the conclusion of this window.

Sayer represented Australia at the 2018 Tournament of Nations at the age of 16, and she has made three caps with the Matildas at the senior level. Sayer is also attempting to make the Olympic squad for Australia later this summer.

The midfielder has made eight appearances with seven starts for Stanford this season. Sayer has fired nine shots, three on target, and is averaging over 68 minutes a match.

Stanford will play at Arizona tonight, with kickoff at 8 p.m. PT.
