STANFORD, CALIF. – Stanford will host an NCAA Regional for the 19th time in program history, selected as the No. 9 seed on Monday.
The Cardinal will welcome UC Irvine (40-16, 32-8 Big West), Nevada (25-18, 22-9 Mountain West) and North Dakota State (41-17, 20-11 Summit) to Sunken Diamond. Stanford opens the tournament on Friday at 1 p.m. when it faces North Dakota State. UC Irvine and Nevada will play game two at 6 p.m.
Stanford went 33-14 overall and 17-10 in the Pac-12 to finish third in the conference. The Cardinal went 12-1 in weekend series this year, including taking three of four from UC Irvine earlier this season.

Stanford owns a 147-79-0 (.650) overall record in 35 postseason appearances, including a 69-19 (.784) clip in games played at Sunken Diamond. The Cardinal, which hosts a regional for the fourth straight season, reached a Super Regional in 2019. Stanford last reached the College World Series in 2008.
