Rowing to Tokyo

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Earning the opportunity to represent the United States at the highest level, Stanford rowing alumni Grace Luczak, Alie Rusher and Austin Hack have been selected by USRowing to the delegation heading to the Olympics in Tokyo this summer.

Luczak, who will compete in the women's four, and Hack, who will race in the men's eight, will each be attending their second Olympics. Rusher earns her first nod, competing in the women's quadruple sculls.

Luczak will make her first appearance in the women's four after taking fourth in Rio in 2016 in the women's pair. Luzcak rowed in the five seat of Stanford's 2009 NCAA Champion varsity eight, and was a three-time All-American at Stanford.

Rusher, a 2018 graduate of Stanford, was one of 10 athletes in contention at the USRowing selection camp last month. She was an All-American at Stanford in 2018.

Hack is the lone returnee among the men's eight selected by USRowing, having finished fourth in Rio in 2016 in the same division. During his time on the farm, Hack was the 2014 Pac-12 Athlete of the Year, as well as the Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

The Olympics in Tokyo begin July 23 and run through August 8, with the rowing events slated for July 23-30.
