2020-21 CoSIDA Academic All-America Teams Opens in a new window

STANFORD, Calif. – A program record four student-athletes from Stanford football were honored as CoSIDA Academic All-Americans, the organization announced on Monday. Thomas Booker led the quartet with an appearance on the first team, while Drew Dalman, Jet Toner and Noah Williams were named to the second team.

This is the first selection to the CoSIDA Academic All-America teams for all four players.

The four CoSIDA Academic All-Americans is the most in a single year for the Cardinal since 1984, tying the program record, and Stanford is the only school with at least three Academic All-Americans on this year's teams. The Cardinal has collected 55 Academic All-America honors dating back to 1964, and 11 under Bradford M. Freeman Director of Football David Shaw.

A semifinalist for the Lott IMPACT Trophy and a team captain, Booker made 21 tackles and added a sack on the season. The junior earned first-team recognition from the Pac-12 at the all-purpose/special teams slot while garnering second-team attention along the defensive line. He blocked PATs in back-to-back weeks – the first of which clinched a one-point Big Game win for the Cardinal. The Ellicott City, Md., native owns a 3.88 GPA while pursuing his degrees in economics and communication, and he was named to the Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll.

The highest-graded center in the Pac-12, Dalman earned first-team All-Pac-12 in 2020. The senior team captain from Salinas, Calif., led a resurgence for the Stanford offensive line, with the Cardinal significantly improving its third-down and red-zone offense percentages from 2019. Dalman was named to the Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll and to the National Football Foundation's Hampshire Honor Society this year. A fourth-round pick by the Atlanta Falcons, Dalman graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering last month, concluding his academic career with a 3.61 GPA.

A fifth-year from Honolulu, Hawaii, Toner returned from injury to earn second-team All-Pac-12 honors last fall. A semifinalist for the William V. Campbell Trophy, Toner was also named to the National Football Foundation's 2021 Hampshire Honor Society and to the Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll. Toner was 7 of 11 on field goals and set a school record with 113-consecutive PAT makes during his career. He kicked the game-winning field goal with 1:48 left in the fourth quarter to break a 24-24 tie against Oregon State on Dec. 12.

Toner graduated with a degree in science, technology & society in 2020, and is currently pursuing an MA in Media Studies, owning a 3.87 GPA.

Williams has earned three academic honors from the Pac-12 during his career, having been named to the all-academic first team in 2018 and to the honor roll the last two seasons. The senior from Phoenix, Ariz., had a career year in 2020 with 12 tackles and a pass breakup. He made his first career start in the season-opener at No. 12 Oregon (Nov. 7), and his six tackles against Oregon State (Dec. 12) were a career high. Williams graduated last month with a 3.90 GPA while pursuing his degree in product design.
