STANFORD, Calif. - 15 student-athletes from the men's water polo program were were recognized by the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) for their achievements in the classroom.

Stanford boasted the second-best team GPA in the nation of 3.71 and was the only MPSF team in the top-15.

Student-athletes eligible for the ACWPC All-Academic award have a cumulative GPA of 3.20 or higher. Athlete merit levels include "Excellent" (3.20 to 3.40), "Superior" (3.41 to 3.70) and "Outstanding" (3.71 to 4.00).

Earning "Outstanding" distinction for the Cardinal were redshirt junior Parker Killion, junior AJ Rossman, sophomores Andrew Churukian, Beck Jurasius and Larsen Weigle and freshmen Jackson Painter and Riley Pittman.

Six Cardinal landed on the "Superior" list - senior Tyler Abramson, junior Quinn Woodhead, redshirt freshmen Walker Seymour and Troy Gleason and freshmen Ike Love and Nolan Krutonog

Redshirt junior Spencer Nelson and freshman Soren Jensen each landed on the "Excellent" list. 

The Cardinal captured its third straight MPSF Championship during the 2020 season and advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the third year in a row. Stanford is slated to begin its fall schedule of competition in early September.
