CHICAGO, Ill. - Second-round play was suspended at the Windy City Collegiate on Monday evening, but not before Stanford women's golf finished all 36 of its holes and jumped out to the lead. The Cardinal, at 7-over for the tournament, is two strokes ahead of second-place Texas who was still on the course when play was halted. Third-place Florida is nine strokes behind the Cardinal.

Freshman Rose Zhang leads the Cardinal at 2-under and is just two strokes off the individual lead of Bohyun Park from Texas. Aline Krauter is tied for sixth at 2-over. Zhang had seven birdies on the day while Krauter had six.

Making her season debut, Angelina Ye opened with a 1-over 73 before a 78 in the afternoon. Rachel Heck also made her debut, shooting an even-par 72 in the first round before struggling to an 81 in the afternoon. Luckily for the Cardinal, freshman Caroline Sturdza bounced back from a first-round 81 to record an even-par 72 in Monday's second round and help catapult the Cardinal to the top of the leaderboard.

Play is set to resume at 5:30 a.m. PT on Tuesday with the finish of the second round, followed by the third and final round after that.
