Closing Out The Fall

PRINCETON, N.J. - No. 10 Stanford concluded its five-match road swing on Monday night, falling 9-0 at No. 3 Princeton.

The Cardinal (0-5), which was playing short-handed and forced to surrender matches at the Nos. 8-9 spots, closed out its fall season.

Si Yi Ma, who won the first four matches of her career over the weekend, pushed her opponent to five sets while playing one level higher at the No. 2 position.

Stanford was competing for the first time since Feb. 23, 2020. The Cardinal did not compete during the 2020-21 season, aligning with similar decisions made by peer institutions and coupled with the College Squash Association (CSA) cancelling its national championship events due to the COVID-19 global pandemic.

The Cardinal returns to action Jan. 7-9, with its next road trip set to include contests against Columbia, Yale and Trinity College (Conn.).
