SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Stanford softball will be featured on the Pac-12 Networks for 15 games this upcoming season, the Pac-12 announced on Monday.
The Cardinal will open its conference slate with a trip to Corvallis, Ore., to face Oregon State, March 25-27. The Pac-12 home opener is scheduled for April 1-3 against Utah.
The Pac-12 will move back to three-game conference series for the 2022 season. The league moved to a four-game series during the 2021 season, with only three of the four games counting towards the Pac-12 standings.
Stanford will host Utah, UCLA (April 8-10), Arizona State (April 22-24) and Oregon (May 6-8) during the 2022 campaign, with road series scheduled at Oregon State, California (April 14-16), Washington (April 29 – May 1) and at Arizona (May 12-14). The program's conference bye weekend is scheduled for the first weekend of Pac-12 play, March 19-21.
Despite the struggles of the 2021 season and a delayed start to training related to COVID-19 restrictions in Santa Clara County, the Cardinal posted one of its best Pac-12 seasons last year. Stanford won nine Pac-12 games – its most conference victories since the 2013 season (13-11). This is despite the series against California, the eighth-place team in the conference standings, being canceled due to COVID-19 developments within the California program. Stanford went 2-1 against the Bears in three nonconference games.
Stanford won a game at No. 13/14 Arizona State (April 9), its first win in Tempe since 2011, and trailed the Sun Devils on run-differential by only four runs, 22-18. Two weeks later, the Cardinal picked up its first Top 10 victories on the road, and its first wins in Eugene since 2011, splitting the weekend series against No. 6/7 Oregon. Stanford closed the season by splitting the weekend series against No. 5 Washington, May 13-15.
The Cardinal will announce the full 2022 schedule at a later date. Stanford's Pac-12 designations can be found below.
