Jones Named National Player of the Week

Collegiate Baseball Poll Opens in a new window

STANFORD, Calif. – Sophomore Brock Jones has been selected as one of Collegiate Baseball's national players of the week after leading Stanford to a four-game sweep of San Francisco last weekend.

Jones was 8 for 18 (.444) with four runs scored, two doubles, a triple and three homers to the tune of 12 RBIs and a 1.167 slugging percentage over the four games against the Dons. The native of Fresno, Calif. managed a pair of homers in the series finale on Sunday – the first multi-homer game for the Cardinal since Maverick Handley hit a pair against Fresno State on June 3, 2019.

Through eight games played this year, Jones is hitting .324 with a team-best five home runs, 15 RBIs and 10 runs scored. He has amassed eight extra-base hits, including a pair of doubles and a triple, while compiling an .882 slugging percentage.

The Collegiate Baseball Player of the Week selection is the first of Jones' career.
