STANFORD, Calif. – Excelling in all facets of her experience at Stanford, senior Grace McGinley has been honored as the Pac-12 Women's Rowing Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
The award is presented in each of the 24 sports sponsored by the Pac-12 and was established to honor student-athletes that are standouts both academically and in their sports discipline.
A two-time CRCA Scholar-Athlete (2019, 2020), McGinley is tripe majoring at Stanford in Comparative Literature, Classics and Film and Media Studies. Successful on the water and in the classroom, she has been in the NCAA lineup every season, highlighted by a fourth-place second varsity finish in 2019 and seventh-place result in 2018.
The fifth rower in program history to earn the honor, McGinely joins past recipients Naomi Cornman (2015), Ali Fauci (2014), Marielle Higgins (2012) and Erika Roddy (2011) with the accolade.
McGinley has helped lead Stanford to a 3-0 record over Cal, USC and UCLA this season, rowing in the varsity four against all three. She has also interned with Pixorize as a content writer and with Woodhall Press as an editorial assistant during her time on the Farm.
In order to be eligible for the Pac-12 Scholar-Athlete of the Year award, student-athletes must be a senior, on track to receive a degree, have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher, participate in at least 50 percent of the scheduled contests in the sport and have a minimum one year in residence at the institution.
