Catching a Wave

- No. 16 Stanford takes on No. 22 Pepperdine in its first dual of the season, with first serve set for 2 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 21.
- The Cardinal enters the spring ranked 16th in the country, while Arthur Fery is the seventh ranked singles player. Two doubles teams are ranked: Fery and Alexandre Rotsaert are ranked eighth, while the pair of Max Basing and Timothy Sah are 31st.
- Fery reached the championship game at the ITA Fall National Championship, and enters the spring with a 10-2 mark in the fall. Classmate Aryan Chaudhary also leads the team with 12 singles wins, while eight athletes have at least three. The pair of Fery and Rotsaert also reached the championship match at ITAs, and hold an 11-2 record together.
- The Cardinal finished the 2020-21 season as Pac-12 champions in men's tennis for the first time since 2015, while the title was the program's first in outright fashion since 2003. The Cardinal went 11-6 on the season with a 6-1 mark in Pac-12 play, and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament in Charlottesville, Virginia.
- Arthur Fery and Axel Geller return as All-Pac-12 selections from a year ago, while Geller also earned CoSIDA Academic All-America distinction.
