Stanford Wins Joust with No. 20 UCF

ORLANDO, Fla. – Ending an undefeated weekend at the ITA Kickoff, No. 14 Stanford men's tennis swept No. 20 UCF, 4-0, on Monday afternoon. Stanford remains perfect at 3-0 this spring, picking up its second win over a ranked opponent in the process.

Timothy Sah and Sangeet Sridhar, teaming up for the first time this season, got things started with a quick 6-1 doubles win on court three. After a loss on court one, Axel Geller and Tomas Kopczynski outlasted their opponents on court two, winning in a tiebreaker 7-6 (4) to give the Cardinal a 1-0 lead.

Stanford carried the momentum into singles play to earn its second-straight 4-0 shutout in the tournament. Sridhar rolled to a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 6, while Arthur Fery topped his sixth ranked opponent of the year, besting the nation's No. 16 player, 6-2, 6-4.

Aryan Chaudhary picked up the clinching win on court five, 6-2, 6-3, giving him a team-leading 14 singles wins this season.

Stanford returns to Taube Family Tennis Center on Saturday, Feb. 5 at 1 p.m.
