Another Sweep

STANFORD, Calif. – For the second consecutive night, Stanford swept Lindenwood, 28-26, 25-16, 25-22, at Burnham Pavilion.

As a team, Stanford (2-0) hit .364 and finished with 9.0 blocks and 30 digs. Lindenwood (0-2) hit .143 and held a 4-3 edge in aces.

Junior Will Rottman and sophomore Luke Turner combined for 24 of the team's 40 kills. Rottman hit .455 with 12 kills, five digs and three blocks. Turner finished with 12 kills on .364 hitting, two digs and an ace.

Junior setter Nathan Lietzke registered 31 assists and was 4-0-4 offensively. The Austin, Texas native also collected four digs and four blocks. Redshirt junior libero Justin Lui tallied a match-high 10 digs and had four assists.

Junior Nathaniel Gates was a force at the net all night, posted a career-high eight blocks. He also hit .667, totaling four kills. Junior middle blocker Adam Chang chipped in with three kills, two digs and an ace, while junior Kevin Lamp finished with five kills and six digs.

Lindenwood was led by Diego Negron and AJ Lewis, who recorded eight kills apiece. Setter Connor Sheehan had 25 assists and six digs for the Lions.

Stanford wraps up the week on Saturday, playing host to No. 12 UC Irvine at 5 p.m. in Burnham Pavilion.
