No. 8 Card Dispatches California

STANFORD, Calif. – Serving for the fourth-straight outing at Taube Family Tennis Center, No. 8 Stanford men's tennis posted its fourth shutout of the season in a 4-0 win over rival California on Saturday afternoon. The Cardinal improves to 7-0 with the result.

The Cardinal picked up the doubles point with wins on courts two and three. Axel Geller and Tomas Kopczynski moved to 5-0 in dual play with a 6-2 win on court two, clinching the doubles point, while Sangeet Sridhar and Timothy Sah earned a 6-1 win on court three to start the scoring.

Geller was first to finish in singles play on court three, winning 6-2, 6-2, while Sridhar posted a straight-set win on court six, 6-2, 6-4, to lift Stanford's advantage to 3-0. Arthur Fery, ranked No. 1 in the country, provided his third clinching point of the year on court one, winning in three sets to give the Cardinal the win.

Stanford returns to action at the ITA Indoor National Championships Feb. 18-21 in Seattle. The draw for opponents occurs later this week.
