Card Sweeps CSUN

STANFORD, Calif. – After winning the first two sets, No. 12 Stanford came from behind in the third to sweep CSUN, 25-17, 25-13, 26-24, Friday, at Maples Pavilion.

Stanford (8-3), which remains undefeated on The Farm, hit a season-best .480, while holding CSUN (3-3) to a .189 clip. The Cardinal served tough, recording five aces, and finished with 7.0 blocks and 23 digs.

Junior outside hitter Will Rottman led the team with a match-high 17 kills on .577 hitting to with three aces, four digs and a blocks. Junior middle blocker Nathaniel Gates added 10 kills on a .615 attack percentage.
 


Junior setter Nathan Lietzke dished out 32 assists, while posting three blocks and a match-best seven digs. Redshirt junior libero Justin Lui collected five digs and had an assist for the Cardinal.
 


Sophomore Luke Turner hit .667 with six kills on nine errorless swings. The opposite also notched four digs, two assists and a block. Outside hitter Kevin Lamp chipped in with five kills, an ace and two digs, while middle blocker Ethan Hill had four kills and a match-high five blocks.
 


Junior Adam Chang came off the bench as a serving sub in all three sets and tallied an ace. Sophomore Aidan Peters subbed in for Lamp in the second and had a kill, while sophomore Chris Kelly replaced Lietzke in the set and had three assists.

CSUN was led by Griffin Walters's 10 kills on .476 hitting, while Ryan DeWeese added eight kills on a .429 attack percentage.

Up next, Stanford travels to No. 1 Long Beach State on Friday, Feb. 25 and will face CSUN again on Saturday, Feb. 26.
