Colorado Tops Men’s Basketball on Senior Night

STANFORD, Calif. – On a night where Stanford celebrated its five-man senior class of Jaiden Delaire, Lukas Kisunas, Sam Beskind, Daniel Begovich and Keenan Fitzmorris, the Cardinal was outlasted in the end by Colorado, 70-53, at Maples Pavilion.

Jaiden Delaire led the way with 12 points, while Spencer Jones and Maxime Raynaud pitched in eight apiece. James Keefe collected a game-high nine rebounds for Stanford, which was held to 38.9 percent from the floor on the night.

Stanford got out to an early 12-3 lead in the first half, starting with baskets from Delaire and Beskind and ending with consecutive field goals by Michael O'Connell, but the Buffaloes responded with a run to take a three-point edge with 7:30 to go in the period. Delaire gave Stanford the lead at the break, 31-29, with a triple in the final seconds of the half.

The Cardinal led for seven more minutes than Colorado on the night, but the Buffaloes blitzed the Cardinal in the second half, 41-22.

Stanford has a week-long break until its next game, facing California on Saturday, Jan. 26 at 5:30 p.m. on Pac-12 Network.
