2022 Season Begins in Hawai'i

Notables

  • For the first time in 2022, Stanford Beach Volleyball hits the sand at the Heineken Duke Kahanamoku Beach Classic Feb. 25 and 26 at Queen's Beach in Waikiki, Hawai'i.  
  • The Cardinal will meet No. 2 UCLA, No. 10 Hawai'i and Saint Mary's on the sands of Waikiki to open the season. The teams will play a round-robin format all day Friday and Saturday morning, which will decide the championship bracket played on Saturday afternoon. Live stats (available at a later date) will be available for each match.
    • Friday, Feb. 25 Schedule:
      • Stanford vs. UCLA- 12 p.m. 
      • Hawai'i vs. Stanford- 2 p.m.
    • Saturday, Feb. 26 Schedule
      • Stanford vs. Saint Mary's- 12 p.m.
      • Semifinal #1- 2 p.m.
      • Semifinal #2- 4 p.m.
      • Final- 6 p.m.
  • The Cardinal opens its season in Hawai'i for the fourth time in the last five seasons. Stanford looks to turn the tides from its last visit to the Aloha State, where the team left the sands of Waikiki without a win. 
  • Stanford finished the 2021 season at 23-13, setting a program record for most wins in a season and qualifying for the NCAA Championship in Gulf Shores, Ala. for the first time in program history.
  • The Cardinal also made a splash in the Pac-12 Conference during 2021, qualifying for the final day of the conference championships for the first time in program history.
  • Stanford returns multiple veteran players to the courts this season, led by seniors Maddie Daily, Jordan McKinney and Charlie Ekstrom who have played a combined 198 matches in their careers on The Farm.
  • Sophomores Kate Reilly and Xolani Hodel come back to the Cardinal in 2022 with some international experience under their belts, finishing fourth at the U19 World Championships in Phuket, Thailand. The duo were selected to Team USA's U19 Beach Volleyball team following FIVB World Championship Trials last July.
  • The Cardinal welcome five new additions to the squad during 2021 National Signing Day, as Camdyn Doucet (New Braunfels, Texas), Emma Morris (Haymarket, Va.), Serena Turner (Phoenix, Ariz.), Avi Vetter (Olympia, Wash.) and Taylor Wilson (Santa Barbara, Calif. each signed with Stanford and are part of the 2022 roster. 
  • Stanford's 2022 season is highlighted by 12 home contests and 11 matches televised on the Pac-12 Networks.
