STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford softball defeated Fresno State, 5-0 in eight innings, Sunday at Boyd & Jill Smith Family Stadium to close out the DeMarini Invitational.

Sydnee Huff drew a bases-loaded walk, and Taylor Gindlesperger and Kaitlyn Lim hit sacrifice flies to give Stanford a 3-0 lead in the second inning. From there Stanford dominated every facet of the game to extend its string of strong performances.

After allowing back-to-back singles in the second inning, Regan Krause was untouchable to improve to 5-0 on the season. The sophomore struck out six to zero walks without allowing a hit over the final three innings. Only four Bulldogs (1-12) reached the basepaths in the game.

Emily Young was 3-for-3 with three RBI on the day, while both Huff and Gindlesperger scored twice on the afternoon. Young delivered the walk-off hit on a single up the left side in the bottom of the fifth to end the game early.

Despite the two singles in the in the top of the second, the Cardinal pitching staff held opponents to 59-straight plate appearances without a hit – dating back to the fifth inning against Saint Mary's on Thursday night.
