STANFORD, Calif. – Playing its third home game in six days, Stanford men's basketball picked up an 87-69 victory over Washington on Sunday, Feb. 6. The Cardinal improves to 14-8 this season with a 7-5 mark in Pac-12 play.
Jaiden Delaire led the Cardinal with 18 points, to go along with season-highs of eight rebounds and three assists, while James Keefe scored a career-high 17 points and Harrison Ingram pitched in his fifth double-double of the year with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Spencer Jones rounded out a quartet in double figures with 12 points, while Michael O'Connell dished a game-high six assists.
Stanford jumped on Washington early, building a 15-2 lead after 6:13. The Huskies responded to pull within one, 17-16, at the 10:44 mark, but that was as close as they would get in what ended as a wire-to-wire victory. Stanford led at the break by 13, 46-33, in its highest-scoring first half of the season.
The momentum carried into the second half, as Stanford led by double digits for the duration. Keefe scored 11 of his 17 in the second frame, while baskets from Delaire, Brandon Angel and Isa Silva pushed the Cardinal advantage to a game-high 28 points with 2:23 left to play.
