SEATTLE – No. 20 Stanford completed its regular-season efforts Sunday, earning a 196.325 score in a tri-meet with No. 35 Washington and No. 16 Utah State. The Cardinal's score was good to top the Aggies (196.325-195.775) but was just .5 point shy of winning the tri-meet as Washington scored 196.825 points on their home floor.
Three Cardinal brought event titles back to the Farm, as super senior Kyla Bryant earned a part of both the vault and floor title with scores of 9.875 and 9.900, respectively, and senior Grace Waguespack earned sole possession of the bars title with her 9.90 performance.
Stanford started the tri-meet on beam, totaling a meet-high team score of 49.175. Freshmen Brenna Neault and Anapaula Gutierrez alongside junior Chloe Widner led the way with scores of 9.85, while senior Wesley Stephenson and super senior Taylor Lawson each recorded performances good for scores of 9.825 and 9.800, respectively.
The Cardinal then headed to the floor, totaling a score of 49.150. Bryant's 9.90 was Stanford's highest mark of the day, followed by a 9.85 from Lawson and a 9.825 from senior floor specialist Morgan Hoang. Freshmen Neault and Gutierrez rounded out the Cardinal's scoring efforts with scores of 9.800 and 9.775.
Vault was the Cardinal's third event of the meet. Stanford totaled its third 49.000 score of the season on the apparatus, led by Bryant's event title-winning performance of 9.875. Senior Madi Brunette totaled a 9.800 for the Cardinal's second-best score of the night, followed by 9.775 efforts from Gutierrez, Neault, and sophomore Amanda Zeng.
Stanford ended its day on bars, scoring a 49.100 as a program led by Waguespack's 9.90. Bryant earned a 9.85 in the Cardinal's fifth spot, while Lawson and Neault each marked 9.825 in their efforts on the event. Brunette was Stanford's final score counted in the event, as the senior record a 9.700 in her final event of the day.
The Cardinal now breaks for two weeks to ready for the Pac-12 Championships in Salt Lake City, Utah. More information about the two sessions of the championships and which teams are competing in the afternoon and evening will be released at a later date.
