Freshman of the Year

SAN FRANCISCO - Jack Ryan has been named the Pac-12 Diving Freshman of the Year award, capping off an incredible season for the first-year Stanford student-athlete. Ryan culminated his season at the NCAA Championships, finishing 12th overall in the 1-meter final with a score of 347.80.

In the 3-meter event, Jack also took 25th overall in the preliminary round, with a mark of 351.65.

Prior to the NCAA Championships, Ryan had an impressive display at the Pac-12 Championships, along with fellow Stanford diver, Conor Casey. In the 1-meter event during the conference championships, Casey took first place while the star freshman Ryan finished right behind him in second place.

In the 3-meter, Ryan found the podium again, taking third overall in the event. Casey would go on to earn the event victory.

The Cardinal finished seventh overall in the NCAA Championships this season, the best finish since 2018. With all but three NCAA swimmers and divers returning next year, the young Stanford team will look to build on its impressive performance this year, and Jack Ryan will look to add more success to his young Stanford diving career.
