Day One Suspended

Leaderboard Opens in a new window

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - Play was suspended due to darkness on Monday night with Stanford men's golf still having the 18th hole left to play at the Western Intercollegiate at Pasatiempo Golf Club. The Cardinal is 40-over and in 13th after battling rainy, cold and wet conditions throughout the first day.

The first round began with steady rainfall, as Henry Shimp and Daulet Tuleubayev went out in the morning as individuals. In the afternoon, Stanford's six golfers faced increasing winds and dropping temperatures, as the round ended with the feel-like temperature just above 40 degrees. The Cardinal and Pepperdine were the only two schools to not finish the first round on Monday, as all six golfers for each school were held on the 18th tee. The two teams will wrap up their first round on Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. and then go out for the second round beginning at 10:54 a.m. PT.

No golfer finished Monday's round below par and the scoring average was 77.36, more than seven strokes above par.
