PCCSC Championship Sweep

HONOLULU, Hawaii - The Cardinal earned another conference championship over the weekend, taking the PCCSC Women's title. Stanford swept all four titles in the conference, taking home the coed team and fleet race trophies last weekend as well after having earned the PCCSC Women's Team Race championship in February.

By winning the fleet race event this weekend, Stanford officially booked its spot in the women's fleet race championships taking place in New Orleans next month.

The Cardinal completed a successful weekend on the water in Hawaii by maintaining the running lead throughout all 20 races, 10 in the A division and 10 in the B division. Stanford took first place in eight of the 10 B division races, finishing second in the other two. In both divisions, the Cardinal had the best scores of all schools with 23 in A and 12 in B.

Stanford also competed in the Navy Spring regatta over the weekend, racing in Annapolis, Maryland. The Cardinal won the event, taking home first place in a field of 17 teams.

It was a close regatta down to the finish line as the U.S. Naval Academy finished just two points shy of Stanford in second place. The Cardinal were bested by the Midshipmen in the A division by one point, but earned a three point advantage in the B division, sealing the victory with 140 total points.

Stanford is back in action with its sights set on the first national championship opportunity this spring. The Cardinal head to Providence, Rhode Island to compete in the women's team race championships next weekend.
