Worth the Wait

OJAI, Calif. – Taking the court for the first time this week at the Pac-12 Championships, No. 16 Stanford men's tennis rolled past No. 57 Arizona State, 4-0, in the quarterfinal round. The Cardinal improves to 17-4 this season, including a 2-0 sweep of the Sun Devils.

The Cardinal got out to a quick start in doubles, collecting a 1-0 advantage with a win on courts one and two. Arthur Fery and Alexandre Rotsaert picked up their 20th win together this season, winning 6-3 on court two, while the duo of Axel Geller and Tomas Kopczynski picked up a 6-3 win of their own on court one.

Stanford stretched its advantage to 2-0 with straight set wins on courts two and three from Max Basing and Geller. Basing was first in the clubhouse with a 6-3, 6-3 victory, while Geller triumphed minutes later, 7-5, 6-3.

Leading 3-0, the match was delayed on Thursday night due to rain, with action picking up at 10:30 a.m. on Friday morning.

Sangeet Sridhar finished off the Sun Devils just under 30 minutes into Friday morning's action, winning on court five, 6-4, 3-6, 6-2.
