Cardinal Concludes 2022 ANWA

Leaderboard Opens in a new window

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Six Stanford women's golfers wrapped up play at the Augusta National Women's Amateur on Saturday with three making the cut to play the final round at famed Augusta National. Senior Aline Krauter continued her strong play, leading the Cardinal contingent and finished tied for eighth. She was steady all three days, making the cut at 2-over after two rounds at Champions Retreat. Krauter was 4-over through 15 holes on Saturday, but finished with three consecutive birdies to climb back into the Top 10 and finish at 3-over for the tournament.

No. 1-ranked amateur Rose Zhang opened with a 4-over 76 on Wednesday and was in danger of missing the cut, but rebounded with a second-round 1-under 71 to end up safely inside the cut line. The second round was delayed nearly seven hours due to severe weather overnight on Wednesday into Thursday, which caused the round to be finished on Friday morning, Sophomore Rachel Heck finished her second round on Friday strong, coming in with birdie-birdie-par save to make the cut.

All players in the 72-player field played a practice round at Augusta National on Friday, before the Top 30 played Saturday's final round at the famed course.

The Cardinal now turns its attention to Pac-12 Championships in Eugene. Two competitors - Sadie Englemann and Calista Reyes - will compete as individuals at the Silverado Showdown this week as a final tune-up.
