2022 Team Awards

STANFORD, Calif. – With the 2021-22 season in the rearview mirror, Stanford men's golf has voted on and announced its team awards. Highlighted by sophomore Michael Thorbjornsen, who took home Team MVP honors, Barclay Brown, Daulet Tuleubayev and Nate Menon were also honored.
 
The Steele Award for lowest freshman scoring average this season went to Alex Yang, who had a 73.64 scoring average.
 
TEAM MPV – MICHAEL THORBJORNSEN
Led the team with a 70.66 scoring average and played in all 38 rounds with six Top-10 finishes.
 
MOST IMPROVED – BARCLAY BROWN
Had a 71.65 scoring average in 31 rounds with 12 of them at even-par or better and three finishes inside the Top 3.
 
SPOONEY AWARD – DAULET TULEUBAYEV
The Spooney Award is given annually to the golfer who exhibits tenacity and a never-give-up attitude.
 
TRADITION AWARD – NATE MENON
The Tradition Award is given to the golfer who showcases leadership, work ethic, academic excellence and an appreciation of the team and university.
