Louis and Yates Named to Pocock Racing Shells All-America Team

STANFORD, Calif. – Sophomore Avery Louis and senior Martha Yates have been named 2022 Pocock All-America Athletes, the College Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) announced Thursday.

The pair each rowed in Stanford's varsity eight throughout the season, helping to guide the Cardinal's boat to a bronze-medal finish and the team to a tied-for-fourth place effort at the IRA Championships in May.

Yates was honored as both an IRA and a CRCA Scholar-Athletes earlier this postseason. Louis was a part of the Stanford boat that brought home the Danielle Kousoulis Memorial Trophy at the Knecht Cup regatta in April.

To meet the criteria for Pocock All-America selection, a student-athlete must meet all eligibility rules as defined by her institution and have rowed in at least 75 percent of the season's races in the varsity boat. Boat performance, nomination rank, coach's comments, individual achievements, and 2,000-meter erg scores are also considered.
